While we have excellent performance and noise levels, this cooler does take up a considerable amount of space inside your PC. So much so that with the front fan installed it will completely cover your memory. This is definitely a bummer if you already have RGB memory. Also since this cooler is 165.6 mm tall it is not going to fit in all mid towers out there, so be sure to keep that in mind. At the end of the day this is our best performing air cooler to date, beating out high-end coolers from the likes to Noctua, Scythe, and DeepCool. That alone is incredibly impressive!
The Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth is one of the best air-coolers that money can get you today, and it is sold at a very good price point, at 100 dollars, allowing it to achieve a top performance per price ratio. In terms of pure performance, the MasterAir MA824 Stealth cannot threaten the Noctua NH-D15, which remains the ultimate air-cooling solution in my charts. Nonetheless, the 20-dollar price difference is notable, providing the CM cooler with a tremendous advantage.
The Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth is a great cooler. Starting with the physical appearance, I found the stealthy black appearance to be quite satisfying. This purely black aesthetic will fit well in most cases. The build quality is quite good, being rigid and also appears it is built to last a long time. The base of the cooler is nickel plated and the black paint adds to protect the cooler against corrosion.
Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth a big yet stealthy CPU cooler that utilizes 8 heat pipes and a pair of Mobius fans to keep your CPU cool. In our testing, we found that it outperformed every air cooler that we have tested to date and did so without making much noise.
The overall great impression is spoiled only by unnecessarily annoying details such as the lack of paste in the package, mounting screws that are too small and a plastic backplate with below-average sturdiness. If these little things could be ironed out and the sound profile of the fans at certain speed levels could be improved a bit, this would be the perfect cooler that deserves our highest praise. As it is, it “only” gets the Approved award and I can fully recommend it.
