Apex Legends is an engrossing, revamped take on battle royale that as it stands cannot be beat for its attention, detail and care.

Ultimately, I'm excited to see Respawn's plans for the future. Although Apex Legends is fairly light on content at the moment, after having played it for over a week now, it's become my new favorite battle royale game. Matches are quick enough that I never feel burned by a sudden loss and jumping back in with a different legend makes it more addictive than any battle royale I've played so far.

With its razor-sharp gunplay, slick movement, ping system, and great combat arena, Apex Legends takes the Battle Royale genre to the next rung on the ladder and challenges its competitors to do better.

Respawn’s game elevates its entire genre, doing away with its failings while innovating upon its strengths. From out of nowhere, it’s become the prodigious new face of a worldwide phenomenon.

At its core it has fast paced tactical shooting that, while clearly inspired by shooters before it, is satisfying enough to want to do again and again. It’s possible that Apex Legends could finally put the nail in the coffin of Fortnite’s reign over the genre. With updates and new content impending, Apex Legends is sure to keep players entertained for a long time to come.

The fact that Respawn announced and released it on the same day is even more absurd. Additional updates for Apex Legends are planned, and I look forward to seeing how Respawn can build off of what they’ve created. Because put simply, Apex Legends is the best battle royale ever made.

Apex Legends is a quiet revolution in how we communicate in games, and an excellent team-based battle royale I can recommend to anyone, caveat-free.

Apex Legends has some interesting innovations like the Ping System while its weapons are fun to use. However, its lacklustre characters and dull traversal prevent it from being a must play title in the genre.

Apex Legends is not Titanfall, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a special game packed with potential for greatness. I’ve put a lot of hours into Respawn’s latest, and haven’t had the desire to stop yet. The combination of character-driven powers, streamlined team features, and fantastic gunplay have elevated this unexpected spin-off into my go-to battle royale, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

There are some issues with regards to balancing here and there, but the foundations of this game is strong. With a few more tweaks and updates, Apex Legends will be a strong contender in this crowded genre. With being a free-to-play title, there shouldn’t be any excuse not to try it.

Apex Legends boasts fast-paced action, a good selection of weapons, and places an emphasis on teamwork. It might not convert the PUBG faithful or Fortnite fans, but there's no denying that Apex is very special indeed.
